College Q&A for Senior Creative Writing Students

Ah, invited (and paid) to return to my good ol' BA where we did horrid things (see Thrash Compactor) to read from "Scott Too" and then do this:

Answering questions from SUNY Purchase's Seniors in Creative Writing about MFA's, writer process, failure, walking dogs, calendars, enjoying submission ( safe for work ), what to DO in "real" life? Money, fear, huge risks, embracing the fear, etc. Smart group of kids ... holy dung did I just call college seniors "kids" ?!

This was after a reading from "Scott Too". Thank you to Catherine Lewis and Purchase college for inviting me to host this event. And paying me ... yay!

You can't see it in the video, but there was an actual audience, and a large, intelligent, gracious one.  Love them all!

OMG speaking to Scott Snyder and Grant Morrison

NEW YORK COMIC CON - I update Grant Morrison on my chaos magic career ...

Here I am nervously asking a question in front of Grant Morrison, Scott Snyder, and the rest of the Batman team, in front of hundreds of people.

And yes, I DID meet Mr. Morrison in 2008 and he suggested I try out some chaos magick to help achieve my life goals.  So he's being serious when he briefly asks if I'd encountered any demons.

What a weekend ... man I'm just starting to recover.  So here I am being a ham! A nervous, happy, ham!  And I haven't even gotten into the  3-D Printer or the Tromaville experience yet ...

New Article:
YAWP Turns Out Writers of the Future

Hey this is where I teach! YAWP! Ciena and Ali were my students! All the students were great, it makes it so difficult to be restricted by logic in how many we can actually produce (one per scchool/class). So proud of all of them though. James and Chela are often in my classes during the summer. I keep saying "I" and "mine" but I hope you know that's not what I mean, none of it belongs to me. You should know what I mean. But I'm too lazy to go back and rewrite my voice to be more clear, just like I teach them too ... oops! Support YAWP. Done. Bye. Buy my stuff. Bye again.

Some Things

Carrier Pigeon Volume 4 is on the horizon, which will contain my story "The Shark Engine Enigma". Yeah, it's as weird and fucked up as the title sounds.

Went down to Comic-Con as a guest of Scott Snyder, current superstar writer of "Batman". He's one of the most down to earth people I've met. He really treats his fans fantastically (believe me, I've met the stars that don't...)
What can I say, it was fucking incredible.

ALSO, went down to Occupy Wall Street with Erik Romanyschyn, doing a like recon for our next joint project. The photos are up in my facebook album, feel free to take and use any if you wish.

Did some lectures, readings, and Q&A's recently. Yay.

Lots of stuff on the horizon as usual. You will be warned.

And don't forget, my novella, "Scott Too", is coming out next year from Silverthought Press.

The story that was read before the Stony Brook Southampton's MFA with it's audacity to be just a little bit perverted and just a little bit sad, recommended to Alan Alda and disturbing to read before my parents! I swear it's all fiction ...
